AuthoLearn by TrainVision is an excellent solution to the growing need of corporations, SME’s, content providers and individuals for a high quality e-Authoring, specialized for e-Learning. AuthoLearn is independent, Web based, standards conformant, fulfils the need to support legacy modernization, enabling integration of previous materials. AuthoLearn will enable the expected shift in the e-Learning content creation market from experts’ proprietary expensive solutions to the desktop of any content developer. AuthoLearn is a Web based platform, focused on authoring, publishing and packaging of e-learning material and is utilized directly by content authors and Subject Matter Experts (SME). The environment is based on cutting edge technology and is highly efficient, stable and functional. The content produced is fully SCORM 1.2 conformant and can be plugged into any standards supporting LMS/LCMS, or to be consumed in a standalone mode (Web Server, Intranet, HD, LAN or CD/DVD - without LMS/LCMS). These characteristics allow quick and easy adaptation by any type of user and fully assure the Reusability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Durability of the content created by AuthoLearn (“e-Author Once – Use Anywhere, Anytime, by Anyone”). AuthoLearn technology uses light ware components and objects, which are stored on a server side repository and are transferred to the client side in run-time for management and processing – using the client’s Internet browser only, while just changes, are transferred back to the server for storing. The technological approach is taken in order to minimize the load on bandwidth and the server side and take advantage of the processing power of the client machine. AuthoLearn's technology is currently based on Microsoft and Oracle environments, using tools and environments like IIS, ASP, DotNet, MS SQL Server or Oracle DB, XML, DOM, DHTML, Jscript and C++. Due to the client oriented technological approach, it will be quite easy to create additional versions running on other Web Servers (like WebSphere, Apache), additional DB Servers (like MySQL, DB2) and technologies (like PHP, JSP, Cold Fusion).
TrainVision’s team consists of software, education and marketing experts and is active from 1998. The development was financed by Israeli and American corporations, the founder and capital and public foundations like the Israeli Chief Scientist, BIRD and the European commission.
TrainVision’s KEY PERSONS
Dr. Yossi Porat – TrainVision’s Founder. Yossi has a PhD in marketing, wrote several marketing books, held management positions in Israel, lectured courses and had been a marketing consultant to many of Israeli big firms ( IBM, Elko, Tnuva, Bank Hapoalim etc).
Yossi Dagon – co-founder. Yossi has 17 years experience in IT, Software and management of large-scale development and deployment projects. Prior to joining TrainVision (1999) he held professional/management positions (National Semiconductor, Tower Semiconductor, SubMicron Technology) and consulting/project management (Digital Equipment, HP).
